After 12 pages of readin i'm a smarter person. Thanx for all the tips Ted and raisin' az. I'm bumpin up the 15's on the 'vert for some 16x7 38's w/ 225/50-16's. I know you're sayin that's tiny...but this thing's gotta be my daily driver too

Fitment for 2nd Gen Convertibles or Hardtops FC
I am running Fittipaldi Tubolares 18"x10" Wheels on the Rear and 18"x9" up front w/ 265-35-18 & 235 up front with no problems. I used spacers and longer wheel studs purchased from NAPA. I just noticed last week that my 17x8 +35 fronts... the tire (235/45ZR17) is barely rubbing on the Tein coilover perches. if I ran an 1/8th spacer they would clear no problems... but then it gets close to the fenderlip (I could roll that easily enough). if you do get the 17x8 +35 then be careful what tire you choose to run (225 should be cool) as a wide tire will definitely hit your coilovers. this setup will NOT work if you have stock suspension.
I am gonna run a 1/4 or 3/8 spacer with longer wheel studs to run a 245 kumho MX up front in the springtime, if I dont end up getting wider fenders and wider wheels first.

It does fit with stock struts and stock coil springs.
Yes it does fit... my combo did fit my convertible and i am using an 18"x10" rear wheel with a 255-40-18 tire... and up front I am using an 18"x9" rear wheel with a 235-40-18 tire. I can show you the pictures if you want.

Pattern is 114.5mm and yes a +35mm will fit and will support a 9" wide w/ 275 but I went one better... I used a 10" wide w/ 265 which is not as wide as the 275

Why would it be stupid ?
All I simply said is that the wider tires and wider wheels will be heavier .. now on a vehicle that has that much power it will be ok because then it has the necessary power to roll them.. I have a convertible and everything is heavy on my car except for the aluminum hood.. when i put the 18"x10" fittipaldi tubolares and the 265 tires they were pretty heavy and my stock motor too the strain.. Now that i have a 4 rotor 12 spark plug motor its easier to roll these wheels. It's a great option than having a turbo motor... better yet, to have an all wheel drive suspension is on its way..

instead of a having a heavy 10" wheel and running a 265 thus not even utilizing the wheels large width capable of running a 285 or even 295 tire.

You answered your own question...
Why would you want to run 275's in the rear on an NA that cannot break 200hp at the wheels?
Now that i have a 4 rotor 12 spark plug motor its easier to roll these wheels. It's a great option than having a turbo motor... better yet, to have an all wheel drive suspension is on its way..
