Yokohama AVS tire size upgrade anyone?
Has anyone upgraded the size of their tire with Yokohama AVS tires? Will 245/45/16 work on a stock rim? The profile is a little smaller than the stock spec. Does it look funny, or drive differently with the smaller profile in the rear?

yep, 245/45s will work fine on the stock rims. The sidewalls are almost exactly the same height as stock (245*.45 = 110mm, 225*0.5= 113mm)
you probably won't experience much of a handling difference, but you should get a slight bit more straightline grip

I have those... They seem quite a bit stiffer than the stock (or whatever they were) tires I had on there. I LOVE them! They have NO fitment probs, and look nice and fat!

I just mounted Yoko AVS I's 225/50/16's up front on '89 Turbo 2 rims (16x7) and 245/45/16's out back. These particular tires are much wider than most other tire manufacturers and you should be aware of this.
I have coilovers up front and they clear by only about 1/8". I had the car totally slammed and had to raise it about 1" to stop the rubbing. It looks about the same (it was actually too low before) and they work/look great.
Unless you are making 250-300rwhp+ at the rear wheels I would just get 225/50/16's all the way around. Better balance and better overall handling. The rear tires on my car really bulge out but I wanted some big meats out back so I said WTF.
