18" street tires vs. 16" race tires

For the street my FD has 235/40-18f and 275/35-18r Yokohama AVS Sports. I also have the stock wheels with 225/50-16 Kumho V700 Victoracers. Which set would perform better on the track? I have a drivers ed event coming up.

I would have to say that the V700's will not only grip better, but will make the car accelerate faster due to the smaller diameter and the lack of weight in comparison to an 18" wheel.

Depends on how light your 18-inch wheels are. They'd have to be magnesium to be as light as the stockers

Bring them both. The Kumhos will probably last longer and be stickier after they warm up (at which point the street tires will be over temp). You'll also have some understeer with the 18" setup that won't be a problem with the 16s. If you can only bring one set, I would take the Kumhos.
