Cool Winning!!!! RPF1 + AD08: How I pack em

Just thought I would show how I package tires and wheels unlike other people out there. I box each one individually and Road force each assembly on our Hunter DSP9700 to ensure there are no issues with the tire.

These are heading out to Florida for some nice weather and a new owner.

NOW FOR THE SETUP:

RPF1: 18x9.5 and 10.0. 255/35/18 and 285/30/18.

requires rolled rear fenders and that's about it. PnP setup.

Metal Hubrings, Lock + nut setup, and Centercaps to finish it off.

Thanks, Rishie

Awesome combo, something similar served me well on track last year

The AD08s have way too much grip for a street tire, I'm running 285/30-18 at each corner and havent even approached their limits yet.... will be at NJMSP soon and will have a better track update.

Nice job Rish!

To Florida this runs a little over $2800.00 shipped with the accessories. Florida is the most expensive place to ship from Cali.

Thanks,

That's superb Rich. I can't imagine how phenomenal your steering response must be. How do they behave on the freeway? Much tramming at all?

A lot of my solo II buddies are running Z1 Star Specs due to the cost savings and near performance benefits of the AD08. AD08 are superior but not cost effective for most. Z1 star spec is a definite option if they have the right tire sizing. 285/30/18 is the tough one.

I'm gonna try and contact Hankook's racing division to see if we can setup as a Race Tire Distributor for them. Hankook RS-3's are a crazy value for the normal amateur driver.

What's funny is that I didn't even think about the difference moving from 255F/265R AD08s to the 285s. No excessive tramlining, no increased difficulty in parking lots (I have a Maval manual rack). The steering response is incredible, and the car feels much more solid and planted. I also moved from the RPF1 to Fikse Profil 13 at the same time:

Edit: Re the AD08 vs Z1 SS.... from what i've seen firsthand and read online, it appears the Dunlops wear more quickly than the Yoks, enough so that I'm not sure there is a huge amount of money saved choosing one over the other.

Hmm good point Rich. I haven't read too much into the lifespan of the tires but I think the Z1SS get most of the guys through the season.

Sometimes you just can't break up a pair of soul mates: You + Fikse = MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN, lolz.....

Goodfella, your post had me at a pause about the 285's all around. I think I will be pretty wowed over the improvement over 225's though. Adding a strut bar too and getting my ABS back with any luck.

I'll post some pictures once I have them mounted on the car.

The car today

^For street use 285s up front are a bit overkill imo. Lot more weight for not much benefit in street driving.

Nice job on the packing Rishie. Your company is definitely one of the best ones out there in terms of knowledge, professionalism and reliability.

I agree on the 285s for the street, this is my track package which has proven surprisingly streetable while I await my Michelin Pilot Super Sport street tires.

I also agree on the kudos for Rishie

Winner! Quad Winning!

Thanks, Rishie

The fitment was perfect, little rubbing on the inside of the liner on the fronts, on extreme turns (to the lock). Just trimmed it out, all good. Could have left as in the real world that doesn't happen all that often for me. Hell, come to think of it not sure we even checked it on the ground... Raised the front 3/4", just to be extra safe.

Before it was raised it was pure sex. May bring it back down as my limited testing showed no issues what so ever with rubbing. Even passed the driveway test, performed much faster than normal, wew! Handling... Oh what else have I been missing? Tires aren't even broken in and they just stick. Very impressed so far.

Inspection of my rearend wasn't so good, Kaaz here I come. My torsen lasted 150k miles of abused, next week may she rest in piece or pieces...

nice...i always run into the problem of not having boxes to fit tires/wheels when i sell them. always seems like the box is just too small or way to big. i usually cut out pizza size pieces of cardboard and tape them to the front and back of the wheel/tire and just tape all around it. haven't had any problems yet...knock on wood

Ya cutting round pieces to cover the face like tire rack is what scares me. We've had situations where the banding came a little loose and stuff gets damaged.

We use a box that's 24x24x12 but can stretch out a little to fit a 26" diameter tire like a 275/35/18. They cost $5.00 a box but I'm sure the consumer won't mind paying that to have sound of mind that they will get undamaged product. Especially if you've been waiting 3 months to get your JDM goodness.

Thanks,
Rishie
