Will this wheel size fit my FD?

19 x 8.5 with 35mm offset all around with stock suspension. I know that it would be better to run a staggered setup, but I can't pass up the deal on the wheels. Oh, and if it will fit, what is the biggest tire size I could go with? Please someone let me know. Thank you.

Dee

Offsets are very low. It would probably work up front, but you may have to roll the fenders, especially if you are lowered. Max tire size would be 235/35 19.

It's not a good fitment and 19" wheels are really too big for an FD. A low price does not mean it's a good deal.

Will they not work on the car at all? I am at stock height now. I will probably be that way for quite a while. Why will this not work, can someone please explain? I may be getting coilovers as well if that would help.

They are too low of an offset! If you don't know what that means, I suggest you read through the wheel/tire tech at www.tirerack.com.

Those wheels will be very close to the fender lip up front. They are also 19s, which are too tall for an FD -- you will have to run uber-short sidewall tires to come close to maintaining a reasonable tire diameter.

Have you verified the basics like hub size and bolt pattern of the wheels?

Lastly, 19s will look pretty dumb, IMO, on a stock-suspensioned car with stock brakes.

Basically, the lower the offset the wheel, the farther out the wheel and tire sticks out, and, as Tyler mentions, you will hit your fender lip and/or liner.

How 'bout a pair of trashed fenders for ya?

I don't have stock brakes. And yes, I know that the bolt pattern and all of that will fit. Is my problem only going to be up front? Will they fit in the rear fine? I can take care of a little scrubbing. I will roll the front fenders if it is necessary. Thanks

just because you can get a "deal", I wouldn't risk fitment issues. Maybe you should ask your self how much you can afford in your savings on getting the "deal" to fix your body work if you catch the fender?

I would bypass the wheels and save the money that you would spend and get better fitting wheels.

plus look at jimlabs fitment sheet if you really want 19"...

and looking at the calculations it won't fit up front...even with the rolling. Good luck if you still want to persue it.

This phenomenon is not so much a result of incorrect offset, but overall tire diameter.

*edit* actually, the distance between the top of tire (tread portion) and the fender lip. A larger diameter tire AND/OR significant lowering can result in the pic above.
