will these tires have too fat of a sidewall or wide enough for my new wheels? Help
I found an awsome deal on some used tires but I'm not sure if they will be wide enough and they might have too big of a sidewall
Here are my wheel sizes...
19x8.5f
19x9.5r
The tire sizes are 225/40/19f, 255/35/19r
Here is how high the sidewall will be if they are
285/30.....3.42"
255/35.....3.57"
245/35.....3.43"
225/40.....3.60"
So they aren't that off of what they're suppose to be, do you guys think they will look right? The tires aren't wide so I'll have the allot of wheel and no tire look. The tires I might be getting is less than the price of one tire if I were to buy new

Actually, it would be better to get 225/35 19s and 265/30 or 255/30 19s. This will maintain close to stock wheel+tire diameter. In your case, I think the 255/35s will be ok in the rears but 225/40 might be too tall for the fronts.
Maybe Rishie or SleepR1 can comment on that.

Ok...so you pretty much just care about how it looks and not how it performs.
I was pointing out the stock wheel+tire diameter issue because you may hit the fender liner up front or even pull your fender lips down, depending on the offset you are running. And that wouldn't look too good would it.....

Not sure what to tell you about the sidewalls since that is a matter of opinion, although 225/40 is a pretty skinny sidewall. Remember 225/50 is stock, so imagine the stock sidewall, then reduce it by ~20%. The problem I see is the minimum tire width for a 8.5" wheel is 235, so 225 is really too narrow. I would worry about the load rating of a 225/40/19 tire, its probably not high enough to go on the front wheels of an RX-7, as light as they are. Of course, if its just a show car, anything will do. You can go to http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html to get a visual approximation.
