i thought BMW had their own bolt pattern, so that if they are BMW specific wheels then the bolt pattern won't match up to any other car model...

could be wrong though

BMWs have a different bolt pattern, they won't fit. They use 5/120, we use 5/114.

Dude,...I'm like wizzed off, man...I was ready to pull the trigger on my credit card for some volks...Rishie told me it would be 60-90 days before they came in. Damn...Anyway, i really should take care of my rebuild first...However, I wouldn't mind going in debt just a little bit to have some wheels...Everytime I look at my stockers I feel like I am going to

Hey, 17x9.5 and 17x8.5 SSR Competitions are in stock at tirerack. Under $1600 for the set. Or you can get 18x9.5 all around for about $1900, but have to wait until August.

I would either get the SSR Comps from tire rack or Rishie (can't remember if he does SSR) or just wait for the Volks. It's only 2-3 months...

They're some of the lightest wheels made. Even the 18x9.5s are under 19 lbs. Manny would know the weight of the 17x9.5s and 17x8.5s.

I had a set of Anthracite finished SSR Competitions with Hoosier R3S03s on them. The 8.5 x 17 weighs 15 lbs each; 9.5 x 17 weighs 16 lbs each. Hoosers were 245/45-17 for 8.5 x 17; 275/40-17 for 9.5 x 17.

I'm going with new SSR Comps in Competition Silver; 9.5 x 17 all around (42-mm offset) with 255/40-17 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup Competitions. I think the Tire Rack will be stocking this size and finish in July (only in a few weeks)....

Oh

Do you guys know anything about the
Work Maximer F2 wheels?

I may have the opportunity to get a set of these in 18x9 and 10 for the FD...however, I don't know if it would be a good decision on my part when it comes to performance...I am eventually going to go with a single so I don't know...do the 18s screw up ride quality? I would say I am more performance oriented but really care how the car looks too.

I have some 205/40/17s on my MX3 and it made it ride like ****...it's like rolling on rubberband.

the 18s would have 255/35 and 285/30 or 275/35

Here's a photo of the "Work Maximer F2"

Here's my attempt of photochoping it to my car...
Before

After

Damn now that's a polished lip if i've ever seen it! It looks like it would be heavy though....

I tried looking at some common wheel spec pages and could not find anything on the wheel, then tried searching on yahoo.com and it also came up a blank....

I also don't think the photochop makes it look very nice on your car.

Bling bling wheels don't really offer much in the way of performance.

They're prolly heavy as a ****. My 17 inch Fikses are pretty durn lighweight, but after mounting the S03s on them, there is a big diff between them and the stockers, mainly in first gear and in throttle response.

Dave, knowing how you've set up your car and the direction you want to go in, I would say stay away from 18s. The SSR Comps in 17 sound pretty nice.

Yeah, you're right...I need to just get my panites out of a wad and calm down...I don't know why I felt like "I MUST GET WHEELS NOW!" Screw it, I'll wait and get my rebuild taken care of first then save up for a nice set of 17" FM10s...I need to put my money in a CD or something where I can't touch it
