? Will BMW M5 wheels fit on my FD3S?
I have a good friend who has a 2001 BMW M5, and just replaced his stock 18's with OZ 19's. I'll find out the answere to my question soon, by trial and error, but before I start tinkering, does anyone know how I can find out before hand?
If the wheels don't fit under stock conditions, how difficult (estimate) would it be to retro-fit the axles to encorporate those rims? The "M" is rear-wheel drive too. Would I have to replace my FD's axles and associated parts with bimmer parts? Guess that would make it a wide body too.....hmmmmm.....
I already know that they are both a 5 lug nut pattern. The bimmer offsett that I've found on-line is 20mm, and the FD's offset that I've found is 40mm (is this correct?). This may sound like a stupid question (I don't claim to know everything about cars....) but does the offset even matter?
I'm pretty new to this as you can see, so sorry if I haven't gone about asking this question in the "proper" way. I know alot of auto forums like to flame (www.newcelica.org, www.club-si.com, etc.) but I'm guessing that Rx-7 folks are a bit more mature than that.

the offset is way off (and YES, it matters), more importantly, BMWs have a different bolt pattern
I'm sure you can find an aftermarket wheel with similar looks to the M5 wheel if that's your thing.

BMW wheels are heavy. lol. Just did hoosiers on some E46 M3 wheels and those were frikin' bricks. PCD is going from 120 to 114.3. The M5 is a low offset so it wouldn't work as using a spacer will only make it a lower offset.
If the offset of the BMW were high and the FD low then it would work out with adapters.
Thanks, Rishie

Yeah, I was also wondering about the 5 series wheels. I have seen a few in the last week and they look like the Spirit-R BBS RG-Rs (or whatever they are called).
I think they were 530is
