You'll have less room up front with coilovers. You'd need an offset closer to +30 to fit. I tried a 17x8 +40 and the tire was rubbing on the spring and perch.

And with the coilovers, you can go a 235-40 for sure, I used to run that before my 335-35-17s

So a 17x8.5+40 will fit with coilovers and no spacers? (With 235/40/17)

I currently have 17x8.5+35 and it fits fine, but having the abillity to use +40 would help greatly.

brad,

are you sure you tried it with +40 mm offset and not +35 offset?

I looked up the standard offset on the TSW Hokenheim Rs I used to run, and they said +40, I am not positive that is what I had, but they were off the shelf.
BTW there is a gulf coast region SCCA guy selling those wheels, and 6-8 235-40-17 Ecsta V700 tires, 400.00 for the rims, and 50.00 each for the tires( claims two sesions each on the tires), Carl
