Why does FD suspension clunk?

Quite a few of us with FDs suffer from clunking suspension. What are some of the causes of clunking?

Clunking because the bushings are actually spherical bearings that develop play (read wear out) after some time.

There are various suspension bushings that can wear out and cause clunking. It is very common to have the toe link bushings and rear lower control arm bushings to wear out and begin clunking. I don't think JimLab has bushings for these locations. You must buy Mazda parts.

Bushings and wheel bearings. Jim's bushings are a nice upgrade, but they do not address any of the clunky parts.
