I think the SE is the lightest one. CE was heavier than I expected.

The lightest wheel out there is probably the Racing Hart CP035R.

SSR Competitions are reasonably super-light, and they've got pretty sufficient blingage too.

17x9.5 SE37Ks are 16.6 lbs with center caps and valve stems. 17x8.5 was 15.4 lbs or so with the same accessories.

SSR Competition wheels are also very light -- I think they are a tad lighter than my SE37Ks.

A Volk rep once told me that their CE28N was their lightest wheel (at SS5, I think). I suspect it is only fractionally lighter than their other one-piece forged wheels, though. If you can find a one-piece forged Volk or the SSR Comps, they will all be in the same ballpark, and much lighter than most other wheels.

That's a multipiece wheel. I doubt the professor is very light relative to what we're looking at.

"light" and "super freaking light" might be two different things.

If you want the lightest 18 inch wheels for your FD, and price is not an issue, just go out and get some Mazdaspeed MS01 Mags, lol, total about $6k for just the wheels, hehehe. Here's a link to a pic:

17 lbs for 18" wheels is very light. The average is probably 25+ lbs for 18" wheels.

We should mention width when quoting wheel dimensions. An 18 x 7 would be lighter than an 18 x 10. This is why I quote width BEFORE diameter, thus 7 x 17 or 10 x 18...

A very light wheel choice is the 5Ziegen FN-01R which is the forged version. Here are the prices and weights:
17x8 - 6 kgs and $450 ea. white, black and bronze only
17x9 - 6.7 kgs and $525 ea. white, black and bronze only. Both come in 48mm offset
