Replacing the studs because you're getting new rotors?

Not necessarily but depending on which method you choose, you'll have to remove the rotors anyways. After removing rotors, take the hub off and take it to a shop to have the new studs pressed in.

The only alternative that I know of is once you remove the wheel, hammer the old stud out (sledge hammer) and then feed the new stud through the backside of the hub. You have to be very careful to make sure the splines match up and then you can drive it in using a lugnut on the threaded side, continuing to tighten until its pulled in entirely. Hope that helps.
