Wheels & Tires question on FD

I just picked up 18/8.5 front and 18/9.5 rear. What's the widest tire (rear) that will fit on an FD? I'm thinking of 255/35/18. Will the FD fit these?

What are the offsets? Ideal tire for a 9.5" rim would be 265/35 18. On the 8.5" front, you will need to go 235/40 or 245/35 (preferably 235/40 to match rear diameter).

Wouldn't the 235/35 match the rears better since the rears will be 35's also?
Offset = 35

You need to learn about tires -- read the tire tech section at the www.tire rack.com . The 35 is a percentage, not an absolute sidewall height.

That offset is really low. It may come down to tire brand on whether you rub up front or not. I would stick with a 225/40 or 235/40 up front. For the rear, 265/35 should fit, but it will be really close.
