Angry Wheel stud question.

Okay, I bought some "+" wheels and tires from an 82 rx7 to put on my 80SA. I went to go and put them on today and the studs are too long to bolt them on? Did 82 have studs in the hub or are they the same as mine and the stud and nut are one piece? How do I fix this? Is there something else I can use? I really want to get these wheels on my car and get rid of my old SA wheels. Please any ideas?

Are you saying that the acorn type nuts do not go all the way down. If thats the case you need a nut that is open so the stud can go through the nut.

wheel bolts

The "keyhole" Almex wheels also take a shorter wheel bolt than the "waffle" wheels.
You need to be sure you have the right bolts to match the wheels you are running. If you have a different wheel as your spare you had better have the correct wheel bolts as well. The steel wheels may also have a different length bolt. One way around this would be to use the screw in wheel studs (from Pineapple Racing http://www.pineappleracing.com/index.asp ) along with the open end lug nuts they sell.
That way you can swap wheels without worry about the bolts.
