i dont see why everyone is so against spacers? if you get hub centric spacers, its fine. otherwise you wouldnt see just as many race cars from nascar, le mans, and jgtc having them as there are.

Show me one race car that uses wheel spacers. That does not happen.

That is not to say that a well designed wheel spacer can't be used on a street car.

I have yet to hear of one wheel bearing failure due to spacers being used, people just take this lever arm theory and run with it. I would love to hear one real world example of a spacer causing catastrophic failure, not a theory or opinion but a real substantive historical fact.

I use wheel spacers on a race car. I just use ARP wheel studs if I'm playing with track width with spacers. They are cheap insurance, and if nobody uses them racing why do they make them 3" long or longer?

This would just be a personal preference but I wouldn't go over 1/2". Usually your studs will keep you from going thicker. You should have threads that equal the dia. of the stud covered by your lug nuts, I try to have a few extra threads over that. I don't know the strength of the stock studs but remember the valley of the thread is the weakest point. When you start loading that point in shear you better have confidence in your studs. $15 bucks a wheel is cheap for the good studs.

So i can answer this question to the "T" with the size spacer and tire you can use if you can tell me what size tire you're currently running.

Is it the stock FD wheel? 16x8 +50". I'd say you can run about a 10mm to 15mm spacer on that in the front and about a 25mm to 30mm in the rear. Now the issue is that you have about 25mm of stud, so if the spacer is only 15mm wide, you still have 10mm of stud that will stick past it and interfere with the mating surface on the wheel pad. The FD wheel has a cavity to suck up about 5mm of that stud, still have 5mm left. I've used hubcentric Forged Spacers for some time now without any problems. The only sport i see them often used in is Drifting. lolz.

Tell me the wheel and i'll tell you the spacer for the front and the rear.
