Wheel Offset Question

I have done some searching on this site and I am curious to see what everyone has to say about this topic. I have seen alot of guys that are saying to do a 17x8 +35/+30 for the front and a 17x9/17x10 +25/+15 for the rear. Do these #'s appear to be correct? Would they clear with OEM fenders and quarter panels? Would all of these offests be the same # if running a 16" instead of a 17" wheel? I was thinking about staying more on the side of the 16" instead of the 17" unless there is a major reason for switching to the 17" size. This is for a 10th AE.

For a FC I suggest this:

17x8.0 +30 if you're using coilovers, otherwise the +35 would work with OEM style struts. 225/45/17 or 235/40/17.

17x9.0 +30 at the lowest on stock fender in the rear. 255/40/17 rear.

That's my fitment recipe for the FC at least. You can stick with 16's if you want. In fact I have ordered some RPF1's from Japan in 16x8.0 +32 and +25 for the FC. I can't wait til these get here. Incredibly lightweight affordable strong wheel option for FC. You can run 225/50/16 front and 245/45/16 rear.

Why is it that +30 is the lowest for the rear? Just curious really.

Anything lower, imho, will highly increase chances of rubbing on a stock fender with that size tire. I'm not sure I understand your question. It is what it is. That's how the front spacing on the FC is.

If you want lower offset then you need to mod your fenders or get wider fenders. This is not a Nissan so don't expect +15mm offsets and so forth.

The more positive the OFFSET, the FARTHER INSIDE THE FENDER it will sit. THE LOWER THE OFFSET NUMBER, moving towards negative, will PUSH THE WHEEL OUTWARD TOWARDS FENDER. Hope that makes sense.

I honestly feel that a 9" or 9.5" +35 to +38 is a great fitment on the FC. Just beware the muffler heatshields and your tire if doing the 9.5's. I had to bend mine a little.

Rishie how hard would it be to get a set of the Super Advan Racing Ver. 2's in the 17x8 +30 and 17x9 +30?

Or

Would the 17x8 +38 and 17x9 +35 look better?

I am looking at running Cusco Zero2R's on my FC3S and I would love to have the most dish possible but still clearing the OEM fenders and quarter panels. Will I need wheel spacers for these wheels with these coilovers in either one of the offset options listed above?
