What suspension upgrades would u guys recomend for a pure track FD?

I`m going for some custom coilovers, but thinking of the rest..

I would get a FULL set of suspension bushings, then I'd have a shop do all of those. As for coilovers, I'd probably have a set made by either Ohlins, Penske, or Moton.

I'd also look for something that can be rebuilt without too much hassle. For example, some Japanese dampers need to be sent to Japan to be rebuilt. This can be a pain for international customers. On the other hand, there are a good handful of people who can rebuild Koni, Moton, and Bilstein shocks in the US.

However, it looks like you are in Norway. I don't know about shops within your country, but Ohlins is a Swedish brand, and you should be able to send it back to them to be rebuilt. I own a pair of Ohlins and I think they're fantastic. Then again, I'm not a very good driver. Their support is very good though, as I have had numerous correspondences with Ohlins USA and they are amazingly helpful.

Good luck.

Choice of Bushings will depend on your personal preference and possibly the track surfaces you will run on and also weather (rain slick surfaces). The currently available 4 bushing options are that I am aware of are:

1. Delrin -Groove Lube - very stiff
2. Poly Urethane -Super Pro - medium stiff
3. OEM Mazda rubber - soft
4. Mazda Competition 40% stiffer rubber bushings - slightly stiffer than stock

If you are a racer than I'm sure you are aware of the differences between driving a soft bushing car and a hard bushing car.

As far as wishbones (control arms), no one that I know offers adjustable arms. I don't understand what adjustments you would need to make with them. Camber, toe and caster are not adjusted by the control arms themselves. If you are referring to the trailing arms or toe links, then try rx7.com or pettit if you don't have a supplier in the EU or GB

Thanx...

Then I will try to get som Delrin bushings..
Why get adj wishbone is when u lower the car, u may not get the camber u want..
It`s nothing else, it`s just to have the extra adj if I need it..

cheers

Hi Lars, I responded to your PM. If you are just trying to get more camber when you lower the car, the RX-7 already offers a pretty good range of adjustment stock. A cheap way to get more camber is to have your solid bushings offset (the hole through the bushing does not go through the center). Or you can do like I did and have custom adjustable upper arms made.

You can also get pillow ball replacements for the oem bushings, which would be better than solid bushings. There are some Japanese companies that offer them (as well as adjustable arms). However, I had a local fabricator who replaced my worn out solid bushings with pillow ***** for cost comparable to buying the Japanese pieces.

Here's the local fabricator who did the monoballs for my rear suspension (the link is to a kit he does for S2000's).
