What Tires for Drag S5 TII?

First i'll start by saying, is it even worth it to buy a set of rear tires just for drag races? How much would a good set go for to be worth it, and what will fit my S5 wheels? I don't know much about tires and how much they effect anything, so any info you want to give me would be great.

sorry vosko, but your kidding yourself sticking 245/50 's in the back. 225 is the max on a the FC stock rims, go buy some fds for the 245 width or 255

I ran Nitto DR's 245/50/16's on stock T2 rims and cut 1.71 60ft times. An 8" would be better though.

How much power do you have Ocelot? Nitto DR's make good daily drivers rain or shine. But real slicks are needed if you have some big power.

15x8, 5" backspacing rear rims
26" x 9" x 15" slicks
