What tires do you run?

I was just wondering what tires people run on their FD's? El-cheapo, top of the line, or in the middle? I am running Bridgestone S-03's on my car. they are great tires but lots of $$$.

In a recent Greek Autocar a couple of top of the line tires were tested on a BMW Z4...turns out to my surprise the best in almost everything (wet, dry, g etc.) were the Pirelli P-Zero

One question as well...are tires with an assymetric thread better or not for rwd
thanks

If you're referring to Asymmetricos (not Rossos) I AGREE I have not read/heard rave reviews of the Rossos; most everyone loves the old Asymmetricos (which are probably the oldest design UHP tires still being made!).

I am running 245/45/16 Dunlop SP6000s on mine. They were a middle of the road tire. Next time I plan to get something a little better. Tires are NOT the place to skimp out and be cheap on.

I bought the ES100's and didn't like them. I sent them back and got Bridgestone 750's. The ES100 didn't have as much grip as I wanted, and had a sidewall that was too soft for me.

Bridgestone RE750's. Great tire. Good dry and wet traction. Lots of grip. So good that Bridgestone made me a believer in their product ... so I bought the Bridgestone Dueler H/P's for my truck. And I love those tires too!

Before looking here, I replaced stock 205/60R-15's w/ ES100 Yokahama 225/50R-15 91V's on a restored '89 non-turbo convert., stock alloy wheels, w/ only exhaust, intake, & clutch up-grades. ProTech Performance & 2 tire sources recomended them for hard driving on winding roads, rain, & value. The size feels much better of course; what's better/best next time?

I bought the ES100's because they were inexpensive for a high performance tire, and I thought they would be good enough. I was wrong.

However, that depends on what you are used to... If you are switching from a high performance tire to the ES100's, yes, that's not a step up. Going from some crappy street tires to the ES100's may be a step up.
