What Stainless Brake Lines

What Braided Stainless Brake Lines are you guys using. I want something that is coated. I found some made by Techna Fit and some by Stoptech. Any opinions?

Thanks

I'm using the lines from Mazdatrix. I don't believe they are coated and I have yet to hear of someone on this forum having some debris tear up their SS brake lines.

But the lines could possibly tear something else up...

There is not enough slack in them to go anywhere. They have a mount onto the shock and aren't tearing/sawing anything up.

The Corksport lines are coated, and you can even choose the colour (clear, black, blue, red).

I've got them and they seem to be of high quality.

I saw those today as well. Do they have the correct hardware to connect to the oem shock mounts?

I wonder who makes them for Corksport...Techna Fit offers the same colors...

They have the correct fitting on them to attach it to the shock, but they re-use the OEM clips.

You can get some large silicon tubing (You can buy 10' of clear for $5-$7) and sheathe it with that. I'm sure you can get some fancy colors too.

I haven't purchased them yet. Why go to they trouble of coating them myself when I can just buy them already made that way?

True, but I like playing with tool dip. I have a bunch of old crossthreaded bolts that I've rubberized purely out of boredom.

I have Troutman lines and they can be ordered with the clear protective sheath, the ends have a plastic strain-relief, and they have the proper mounts to go on the stock shocks.

Here's what you want. They are like the JDM lines you guys are talking about. They have the Sheath around the outside of the braiding to prevent chaffing. JDM STYLE just like the Endless ones.

I can do them for $125.00 shipped out of CA state in Dom USA, for the club guys. Just indicate this agreed price and go ahead and purchase thru the website if you're interested. This is your most economical line and is just as good or better than the more expensive non sheathed ones i see out there.

Sorry Rishie, you're a good guy and all, but I have to contradict you. They're not necessarily the cheapest available.

The Corksport lines are coated with your choice of colour, and are only $99. Mazdatrix's lines are sometimes coated (apparently some batches are, others aren't) and are $94.50. I've dealt with both companies and they've got great service. I know the Corksport FC lines have all the right bits to attach to the shock, and I'm pretty sure the Mazdatrix ones do too. It'll depend on the shipping price whether or not these are cheaper, but shipping should be less than $25 or $30, which will make these cheaper.

Wow not bad. I hadn't looked into them. I'm gonna have to see what kind of wholesale they can do. I'm so used to seeing Goodridge lines which are WAY overpriced.

The pricing on their website hasn't been updated, but it isn't much more, esp. WITHOUT the sheath.

Quick question so there is no confusion. I hear two terms, one is a "coated" and the other is a sheath/tube slipped over the braided line. My question is, are we all referring to the same thing?

If in fact different which lines have what different type? Since I don't have them all in front of me I can't tell the difference. I see a vast price range on brake lines and would like to see where the difference might be in terms of this "protective outer skin".

The ones I have seen with the "sheath" are lines like the Endless, Project Mu, and Agency Power Lines. The ones off the shelf from Goodridge do not have this "sheath'.

Thanks guys, Rishie

The ones I had from Stoptech had a "sheath". I have not seen any that were actually "coated".

The Corkport ones have a plastic tube over the line. My dad's Miata SS lines from Russell also had this tube.
