I have 225/40/18 all around and I don't know the offset and i think they are 9" wide all around and I have ALL OEM suspention all around not lowered etc...
What shoud I set my alignment at?
what is the most "spirited" driving setup i can do?
what is the most "longest lasting tires" setup i can do
and what is a good in between those 2 i could do?
thanks for the "custom" help and in the morning i will post what it is currently at for settings (i just aligned it today) i will do it again on monday

Jeremy, take your car down to C2 Automotive in Oakland:
1009 7th St.
(510) 272-9869
They're alignment experts and work on FDs, and all manner of AutoX and race cars. Tell 'em what you want, and they'll set your suspension up for you.

Oh, you know about alignments also? cool, well the deal is i am in good with a local high school autoshop teacher and he has the new laser setup and all and i can do it myself for free. my car has been messed up bad on the rear tires (too much negitive camber was wearing my tires on the inside) since i have owned the car and then i finally adjusted it to the following specs:
For me, I would run about 1.2 neg camber in front. The caster would be at 6 on both sides ideally, so you are close. Probably 0 toe in the rear. The rest looks OK to me.

ok so teach me, the more negitive camber the more responsive but the tires wear faster on the inside? why is the OEM setup negitive already? my rear tires used to wear badly on the inside with my previous setup on my chart above is that make sense? basicly i would like 3 reccomended settings from the fourm members and not from mazda,
1.) what is the most optimal settings for making the tires wear evenly under all conditions (burnouts, auto x, launching traction, and normal)
2.) what is the most responsive settings for all conditions (burnouts, auto x, launching traction, and normal)
3.) what is a good medium in between the above 2 but a little more on the traction/wear side?
make sense or am i just un-informed?
thanks,
Jeremy

You are uninformed
You cannot have best tire wear and best handling at the same time. I choose to sacrifice some tire wear for better handling. If you choose to sacrifice some handling to get a little better tire wear, then you should have less negative camber in the front and rear. Maybe decrease to .75 negative for both.
If you are doing burnouts, then you really don't care about tire wear, and you shouldn't ask for help with alignment specs. Burnouts are a waste of gas and tires. They are hard on the tranny, rear end, and clutch. They are pointless, and can be very costly. I suggest that you TRY not to do them

well maybey burnout was the wrong word, i love to drift and have excellent controll while doing so, even in second gear, but yeah, that is rarely, i would say i would like the most traction durring this rainy season for now and then some specs for summer or a little more spirited driving. id say its about 95% regular and 5% irregular, and i only have 71k on my car so that is how often i drive it, its a weekender. any specs or what?
