What does lug size have to do with wheels?

What does lug size have to do with wheels?

This box says that the nut size is 1.25, but isn't the FD lug size 12X 1.5. How does it have anything to do with the rim? I'm confused?

my guess would be that those wheels come with lug nuts in the box.

It does not matter what size your studs are for the wheels... other than the obvious spacing issue of 5x114.3

Yep, the included lug nuts are the wrong pitch.

Yes, just incase more is needed, those numbers are used to define the thread pitch of the lug nuts. This is used when discribing metric nuts and bolts.
