Volk rims are a waste of money! you can get wheels that look EXACTLY the same by other manufacturers for less than a quarter of what they cost.
honestly though, Volk makes awesome wheels. compared to other racing wheel manufacturers like CCW, Kinesis, Fikse, Forgeline, and HRE...Volks cost almost half as much and are significantly lighter. the only thing you dont get with Volk as you do with the other manufacturers is custom sizing, offsets, and finishes.
just my .02

IMHO, Volks are the best value on the market today. Some argue that the SSR's are close but they end up weighing 3-5lbs. more for identical sizing. Forget the HRE's, Fikse's, Forgelines, again, much heavier. I run 18x9.5's (SE37A's in bronze) all the way around (purchased from Rishie btw...) and they're a tad over 16lbs. each, same as my stock 95 rims. My only complaint, as noted above is the lack of custom offsets. Luckily the 9.5" width worked, but it would have been nice to purchase 10's and have them fit (with rolled front fenders) at all four corners. I'm not even sure they make a 10" width in any of their monobloc forgings.

I disagree here...my SSR Competitions in 8.5 and 9.5 x 17 are actually slightly "lighter" than the Volk SE37Ks, at 15 and 16 lbs, respectively, versus 0.5 lb more for the Volk SE37Ks in the same size, but with 40-mm offsets.
It's safe to say that the weight difference between the SSRs and Volks are neglible, but the SSR Comps are clearly the value leader when it comes to lightweight ("Semi Solid") forged wheels. The 8.5 x 17s are $389 each, and 9.5 x 17s are $409 each, Tire Rack retail pricing... Rishie (ARD T2) can get you excellent pricing on Volks but they'll still be more expensive than the SSR Comps at Tire Rack retail pricing...
Tire Rack's running a special on the SSR Integral A2s! The A2s are being discontinued, and the Rack's blowing them out. My 9 x 17, 45-mm offset wheels were $289 each!
Fikses and HREs are more money because they're on another level of quality. These are custom-made-to-order wheels with car-specific hubcentricity applications, instead of the hubcentric centering rings both Volk and SSR provide.
Fikses and HREs are beautifully crafted, with every exquisite detail, polished to perfection. I particularly like the Fikses (Mach V) as the bolts are on the inside NOT the outside of the wheel!
Fikses and HREs are exclusive, and you will NOT find a Fikse or HRE knock-off anywhere...!
Forgeline wheels started out as club racing wheels used for the public road. Forgelines are very strong and popular with the sports car club racers. Aesthetically more appealing than CCWs, but not quite at the same level as Fikse and HRE.
CCW (Complete Custom Wheel) wheels are also custom-made-to-order, but John (Purner) makes aestheic compromises to make the wheel affordable for club racing enthusiasts who are looking for strong, lightweight wheels with aggressive widths (for fitting huge slicks!).

Yes, the Comps weigh a bit less than the Integrals, which is the wheel I was referring to...Tire Rack's weights seem to be higher than what others have weighed the wheels in at. Often I hear that "my Integrals weigh 15lbs...not according to Tire Rack who scales them in at 19lbs or so (off the top of my head). Then again they're cheaper, sparing more money for better tires, no? My rims are 18's, yours are 17's. Not sure why the SE37K's would be the same or slightly heavier than the A in an 18" diameter...Weighed on a calibrated scale, An SE37A, 18x9.5 with a 45mm offset came in at 16.4 to 16.5lbs. each. Only one rim needed a weight for balancing. Again, we're spliting eyelashes :-)The Comps looked really good on an 02 M3 I photographed this weekend but I don't care for them on the 7. Just a matter of aesthetics.
As far as the others, still, IMHO, overpriced for a wheel that's probably going to get scuffed sooner than later. Maybe they are better made (again, I reqired one weight on one wheel only). If you damage a rim half, one could just send the wheel back in or order the new piece whereas a monobloc wheel like the Volk would be toast.

Michel,
I was going off of Max Cooper's weights from his SE37Ks in the same 17-inch sizes as my SSR Comps.
FWIW, I think the Comps look great on my red FD sans the pick-up truck-style center caps...at least until the brake dust turns the wheels black fr/rr! My SSR Comps have Hoosier R3S03s on them (245/45 and 275/40-17s), and are strictly for road racing. My SSR Integrals (9 x 17s) with AVS I's *255/40-17s) are for road racing in the wet, and for road use...
Still, if someone were selling their Fikse Mach VS in 9 and 10 x 17s with 255 and 265/40-17 fr/rr...I'd think seriously about picking them up!

Ghost Ride the Whip
I have the TE-37's they are extremeley light and more importantly very strong. They are forged. I run 30psi tire pressure on the street, i've been doing it for months and the rims are still the original shape I got them in 2 years ago
