so what now? I am building up my FC, and I wanted these springs. I am pushed for time to have a running car. What other good spring alternatives do I have? Thanks and yes I searched and found nothing that answered my question.

Talking

Yeah, Auto R & D PMd me "in case" I was having trouble getting RS-R springs. Duh. I really dislike that type of business practice so I'm saving a bit more money and calling Ground Control. I can get the spring rate I want and be able to set my ride height and even corner weight the car. Oh, and more tire room up front! If I later want to change my spring rate on one end of the car to ballance the handling I can do that too.

Well Josh I am very surprised by your response.

We are a wholesaler for Ground Control also. We are listed on Manufacturer's websites. We are one of your most legitimate sources for RX7 parts. Not to mention we specialize in FC footwork tuning.

You posted that the springs are on backorder and I'm here to help out the user base know that the springs are available. Just at one place. And next time the same situation will most likely occur as we have backordered 98% of all incoming RX7 race springs all the time.

This was definitely not the reaction I was expecting. I pm'd you offerring my help simply stating if you were having problems with your other vendor that we could assist you.

Well so much for gratitude.

If you don't want to do business with a company that can actually deliver then i understand. If you want me to help you with your ground controls and spring rates I can do that too.

I've run all types of coils including Ground controls with Konis and Illuminas. There are maintenance issues involved with them. Make sure your wheels will work with the reduced backspacing, and that you pick the right spring rates for your dampers.

If you want help, i'm here as well as Dana. Our company is one of the oldest here on the board. Do a search for my name and you'll see a good three years I spent advising and consulting board members. Your response to this only shows me that you do not know who we are and you simply think we are a vendor here trying to make a buck. If that was the case we'd stick to wholesaling. I'm on the board to help people who are having problems like yourself.

Dana and I are here whenever you need advice.

If you want advice on your setup for specific purposes and true technical data with regards to wheel clearances and such then contact us. WE are here to help.

Later,

Rishie

Cool

The way I see it you cornered the market on RS-R springs and went trolling for customers. You don't see it that way, but that's ok. I've ordered from Ground Control directly before and did so today. They stock what they advertise and they deliver so no worries there. I have my dampers, I have my wheels, I have my tires, and in a week I'll have my springs.

Now I need to get busy on my engine.

RoadRaceJosh: What wheel fitment are you running to clear your ground controls?

As for “trolling for customers”. We are a wholesale distributor for RS*R and make monthly order with RS*R. As both Rishie and I are RX-7 guys and we have lots of clients in this community we were just informing you guys that we have the springs in stock (btw we ordered these a while ago and thy just came in the other week). No worries we did not mean to make any one upset on purpose.

Josh, obviously don't know these guys and you're just being an *** for no reason. If he's got RS*R spring and you want them, what's the big deal?

Actually I'm just calling it as I see it. I don know you or them and none of you know me. Everyone has a right to thier own opinion and now you've posted yours as well. I was going to settle for RS-R springs to be kind to my budget, but it didn't work out. Ground Control coil overs are on the way. This is the last of the troll food I throw out. Bye now.
