Watanabe R-type wheels on FC

hello guys, i am in the looks for these wheels. They are the Watanabe R-type. My question is...i am going for more of a Nostalgic Japanese classic look. I like my cars slammed w/ wide rims. The thing is i am kinda a noob as far as wheel fitting. Will 16x9.5 -19 Clear the back & 16x9 -14 clear the front? once again lol sorry if that sounds noob but i just need some help....Thanks in advanced.

it'll clear the brakes and shocks but they will stick out way too far. You'll need some widebody fenders.

If you like that look just go for some Panasports. You don't get much more classic than Panasports. You are not going to be able to have that deep of a dish. They have them up to 16" four or five lug.

Here are pictures and some reviews from our Miata brothers;

is that +19 or -19?
+19 would fit fine, -19 no way in hell.

they should fit perfectish in the front with 30-35mm wide fenders and lots o negative camber on like a 215/40/16 for the stretch. rears probably need to do the same but obviously with a different tire

9 -14 will be about 30mm past "flush", depending on tire setup, on the front.

9.5 -19 will be about 9mm past "flush", again depending on tire setup, on the rear.

Definitely doable. You'll need fiberglass fenders in the front, and maybe you can get away with a gnarly pull on the rear, on stock metal.

All will depend on camber settings/tire setup.

I'm in full support of your idea to run wats btw... such a sick look, when done right.

why do you think that a wider rim with a lower offset will stick out only 9mm and the other one will stick out 30mm?

So i was talking to a guy i met on the street. he drives A ford minivan (think is the Astro) anyways he had some wheels that looked exactly like these. They even have the same flush....Do these fit My 1989 RX7? all i know is that they are 5 lug and are FORD.

Because the front and rear fenders accomodate different amounts of width/offset.

Front flush is like 9+15/+20ish....

Rear flushness is like 10+15/20, or 9-10

In the end it always comes down to specifics... tire sizes, camber, shape of your fenders, bla bla bla.
