Can this red trim (ring around the face) be purchased from Volk? I want to redo the centers of my wheels but I'm scared to break the red trim by trying to remove it. It doesnt look too flexible after all these years. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

 

Holy smokes did you get the rims like that or did you have the lips redone????


Here are mine. AS you can see the lips are not as shiney as yours granted I bought mine used and havent had them restored.

 

I bought the wheels with curb rash on all of them and I took them to a shop that does polishing. They did the lips and all of the bolts. I want to restore the center piece but Im too chicken to remove the red trim

What size/offset are your rear wheels? The lip on them looks bigger than mine. My rears are 17x9 +44. Heres a better shot of mine...

Yeah mine have curb rash on them as well. I am going to try to sand the rashes.

The rears are 17 by 9 with a 34 offset

 

Your wheels look brand new compared to the way mine looked before. I rattled canned & clear coated the center gray because they looked like ***. Now I changed my mind and want to either polish the face, chrome it or powder coat it. Thats why I need to remove the red ring.

I love the way your rears look. Hopefully I can find a pair identical to yours for my car.

 

Actually Rbmotoring.com has a set coming in if I remember that is in my offset, they get it once in a while. But if you check their site once a month they get the GTUs in my rear offset.

I wonder if maybe the same red ring from the new GTUs will work.

Yep. And they use the red gasket as well.
