The CE28N texture on your black wheels looks much smoother, like the finish is lacquered? The texture from artowar2's Titanium Silver CE28Ns looked a bit more pebbled? I wish I could see the silver CE28Ns (9.5 x 17 with 255/40-17) on my car before committing dammit...

Manny, you are correct. The rear wheels have more of an aggressive lip than the front ones do and the finish is a smooth shiny looking type that stands out.

If it helps Manny, i'll bet theres almost 5-6 lb difference bwetween the volks and the BCs (or other modulars) I really couldn't believe how light they were.

Yeah, 21 lbs for 10 x 17 BC Forged (yikes!). Gotta love the BC02's wheel centers and lips though! LOL

I weighed the 9.5 one on a digital scale and it came out to 16lbs compared to the volk gtn I had which was 22lbs. This was a special order color that took almost 4 months to arrive from Japan. I'm gonna take up close pics of the wheel soon.
Gene, I noticed your offset for the rears is 42 mm. I'd actually be using 47-mm offset for 9.5 x 17, so I can run them all the way around. I see the 255/40-17s fit perfectly with the 9.5 wides. Anyhow, the 47-mm offset 9.5s won't have the lippage your 42-mm or sevinin7's 38-mm offsets have. I guess I still like the Titanium Silver...

Manny,

I like these rims too but would like a nicer "silver" finish.

I was following this thread on the M3 forum. Apparently, if we can get a group buy of 5 or more they can custom make the rims. I don't like the look of the center but would prefer the CE28n with the LE37 center.

If these guys are expecting an 18x9.5 CE28n to weigh 13.23 lbs., they are likely to be very disappointed. I actually own these wheels in that size, and as I recall the average weight was around 17 lbs. (I posted detailed weights for the wheels, centercaps & hardware when I got the wheels, but can't seem to find the post now. Maybe it was lost when they rebuilt the database...).

My wheels have the "high pad" so another pad height is likely to have a different weight. However, I really doubt that there would be a four pound difference.

Yea, my 17x 9.5 ce28n weights in at 16lbs so there's no way that is correct.

I have gunmetal LE-28s on my car. 18x8.5 up front with 18x9.5 rears. They are soooooo friggin light. I really couldnt tell much of a difference in acceleration from the larger rim, but I can tell I have more grip now. I'll try to get pics, but since I'm not at home that may be hard. BTW my fd is red too, so for those of you who want to see these rims in gunmetal on red I'll try to post pics. They have the polished chrome lip too.
