CA Using S13 JIC Coilovers on my FC

Well pretty much just wut the title ses.
I got a set of S13 Jic Magic coilovers for free from my Nissan frenz.
Moreover because i use to drive Nissans a lot. but the cops profile Nissans than mazdas here in the OC. I drive around with flashy Brabus rims, Black GT Vented hood and Loud exhaust and i hav yet to be pulled over for anything. I dont even have insurance yet. (bad idea...i know)

Back to topic.
Well I lined the up to see if i can make them work.
basicacilly i can throw the front struts on the vise of a vertical mill.
With an Endmill you would have the cut a slot from the lower existing whoe of the coilovers mounting braket. Because the FC hub is slightly longer than the s13.
Without having to drill holes in the shock towers, take the OEM tophats from the old FC suspension and replace top hats. Moreover you can buy FC ADjustable camber plates and replace the tophats.

In the rear, the lower mounts fit in easily. you can just swap tophats from your oem rear suspension.

this is for you guys that wanna put coilovers on and dont have the big bank account to provide. so you can also take a look at other cars to see what deals you can get. I got mine for free. im doin the labor. So it is still free. i guess i got a lot of free time hahaha

It will probably completely analy rape the balance and handling of the car, Why not just sell them and get ones intended for a rx7?

would it really? this is mildly speculative, but what if:

-spring rate offerings on 240's and FC's are similar if not the same between coilover models in the same brand (6/5, 8/6, 10/8) (they are)

-shock height adjustment range allows installation with height in spec. (possibly)

-shock absorber for a single model coilover is probably similar if not exactly same across similar cars because consumers are fairly if not completely ignorant with respect to shock characteristics (probably)

at any rate, discussion is a little moot since most people don't get free or bargain bin coilovers. but good luck and let us know how it works out for you.

I honestly do not think that. However, i am open to the reasons why you think that. Most japanese cars share a lot of things in common. Also, I have check the mounting points and angles. I am proceeding ahead in getting FC adj. camber plates from JIC. Networking lead me to make some friends with their sponsored drivers. I can't post his name. (privacy issues don't want to get in trouble) Plus most of all coilovers made from companies make all the struts the same. they just make the tophats and bottom mounts to fit the application. So we can easily change out the tophats no problem. The rear bottom mounts are exactly the same. since the rears from the FC and s13 are both single bolt mounting points. the camber or caster angle will not change. they don't have adj. rear camber plates, so the stock ones will do fine. Once again the geometry won't be affected, till i mess with ride height, and play with the dampening (that doesn't mess with geometry just dampening. we know this right?)
On the front we can fit adj. camber plates to play with the camber. So whatever angle you may think is thrown off can be corrected. (right, i know im right... )
the lower would be the only concern, but if you oay attention to the bolt holes on both the FC and S13, the run parallel to the shock housing. So i can see that it is only the spacing between the bolt hole from top to bottom that need to be addressed. And thats where the minimal modification comes in.

lol. yeah once you drop your FC like a cop wont pull you over.

spend some time working on other peoples cars first so you can afford insurance.
then work on your own car.

well if do get pulled over, i will be like "What took you guys so long." and if he is a cool cop, i will be like "***** you f-ing up" hahaha my car is already low. if anything the coilovers are more for the spring rate and dampening. Insurance is weird for me. when i don't have it, i don't get into accidents, and the first time i actually got it, is when i got into my first accident. Even when i did get in the accident insurance didn't help. i repared all the problems myself.

WTF do coilovers have to do with making things wet? It's DAMPING. Dampening is to make things damp (wet).

that's actually not quite true.

dampen has a secondary definition involving deadening/restraining/diminishing.

damp is the more correct term from a physics standpoint, but colloquially, damping and dampening are both correct.
