Two Tone PowderCoating????

I was thinking that powdercoating the spokes of the stock wheels gunmetal gray and leaving the outer areas of the rims would look pretty good........

Has anyone tried and/or done this?

You would have to mask off the rest of the rims, but I was wondering if you could leave the tape on during the "cooking" process so the powdercoat wouldn't bleed over. Does anyone have info on this and how high the temp is when the cook em? TIA.

I don't know much about powdercoating but it doesn't seem to me like this would work. Powdercoating works with an electical charge and I don't think the tape is going to stop that. I guess they could have come out with a new kind of powdercoating or a new kind of tape to resist the charge.
