Turning rear into widebody

I'm ordering a set of Pettit flares for the FD and will be getting wheels nice. Reason for the flares is because I want to go with a deep deep dish wheel.

I have a blue FD so I want to get something with a polished look so it'll bring the paint out more. I was pretty much set with iForged Aero's, but after seeing this picture, I'm starting to lean to the SF-Challenges from Volk but in a RMC finish (their "chrome/dark chrome" finish)

Your car wont' handle as good if you widen track in rear and not front.

Just some info. that's my honest opinion.

Rishie,

Those wheels have negative offsets. With the Pettit flares, would I be able to fit a negative offset like that? Those are 19x10.5 I think with -10 offset I can't remember. Those were going on a widebody FC. Are 10.5's even big enough for the flares?

Yes those will fit the Petit flares just fine.

And don't worry about width. If you're not widebodying the front i would suggest sticking with a 10" or 10.5 rear and just get the lip. Then run a 285/30 front 10" +50 and a 295/30 rear. That's what I did for another client on the east coast with the AME wheels.

Its possible to use 17 inch wheels with the wide body?
(less money, less weight). If yes, which size will fit better.

I am preparing the car for my son ,it will be used mainly for drag racing;installing the wide rear fenders will somehow penalize times at the strip?

Thanks
