Trying to grasp this wheel offset thing in my head...Argghhh!!!

Can someone please answer me this???!!! What would sit wider off the car: 10" wide wheels with a +20 offset or a +45 offset?

Ok, now I understand. I saw that illustration at so many different websites and I couldn't quite make sense of it.
