Trailing arm and control arm question

Ok I know that lots of people replace their trailing arms and toe links but what are control arms. I wrecked my car and they said that they need to be replaced.

Also they said I need a strut tower and a strut cartridge. What is that and what does it do. Can I replace it myself??

Thanks

BTW: For FD

i suggest you ask the people working on yr car to give you a list of exactly what needs to be replaced... for instance, there are upper and lower control arms... right side, left side? strut tower is part of the body. strut cartridge refers to the shock absorber front rear etc.... once you have a list if you have an interest in saving money go to the classified section of this forum and post your parts needs and buy them for 20 cents on the dollar.
