I'm going for a certain "look" with my car. The engine is almost entirely aluminum, some polished, some "raw" billet. I want billet wheels (or something similar) to set off the car and give it a purposeful appearance. I may just take the ADR Sterlings to Boyd and have them whittle me a set from billet.
FYI, in case you didn't know, ADR rims are just poor quality in my opinion and are cheap wheels. Rishie is right, they are made in taiwan and distributed by golden apple (the same guys who sell a lot of other ricer ****). I know someone who had ADR rims on their car before and bent the wheels after going through some bumpy roads. You may want to consider a stronger/forged wheel unless the vibration from the steering wheel as a result of a bent wheel doesn't bother you.

I wasn't planning on using the ADRs. They don't come in the larger size I need anyway, apparently.

Honestly, I probably would have said the same thing a couple years ago. When I got 16" rims for my Mustang way back when, they seemed huge, and 50-series tires were rubber bands compared to the stock rubber. Now 16" wheels are mundane, and 50-series tires look ridiculously tall. The same goes for 17s and a 40-series tire now. My car has 17s with 40s on it at the moment, and they look absolutely stupid.

The front wheels on my Z06 were 17s, and the 40-series tires looked too thick compared to the rim, and especially when compared to the 18 in the back with the 35-series tire. There's not much difference between an 18 and a 19, and all of the supercars run big wheels these days. I think the combination of a 19 and a 30-series tire is just about right, when the tire is a P285 or P295. I'm not looking for a slammed look like Tom's car, but the proportion of tire to wheel and wheel to car seems about right to me if the car wasn't lowered so far.
