You might want to look into spring rates because that will tell you a lot more than people's opinions. It's all about how much comfort you are willing to sacrifice for performance.

You might try a set of Eibach's with a good set of swaybars. Swaybars will help control body roll and don't negatively affect the ride comfort, make it better if anything! Tires also play a lot into the comfort of the ride. Something like Continental Contisport Contact 2's will give you a luxurious ride compared to like Toyo T1's or Falken Azenis which have much stiffer sidewalls. The performance is comparable too, you just pay more.

I have the Tokico's on stock springs and they are no where near stiff enough for my taste. I like the adjustability though so you can fine tune it.

what color are they?

I had a set Tokico Illuminas with the Racing Beat suspension package and found it to be spot on for street and autocross use

These struts are the light blue non-adjustable tokicos but those eibachs sound like they might do the trick. What about some tanabe springs anybody running a set of those?

I have tokico blues with racing beat springs. They ride well on the street and are ok on the track.

I may be selling my springs soon for coilovers if you are interested.

Talking Suspension Mods

Just to add my two cents in - made some mods to my '84 GSL a couple of winters ago. Went with the Tokico blues and Eibach springs from ReSpeed . Replaced all the suspension bushings with Energy Suspension poly bushings (the black ones). Also replaced the idler arm with the modified ball joint design from Rockauto. Definitely firmed up the ride, much more responsive steering than stock. Hope this helps.
