I don't agre with you on that, my sp900o's where great till they where almoast bold completely.

 

I love the Falken Azenis Sports (very sticky and cheap), but they aren't quiet and aren't available in large enough sizes for many cars.

Also, it is not good enough to merely choose a good brand of tire -- you need to choose a good model, too. Even the "good" manufacturers make some rather crappy tire models.

i woud stay away from Kumhos. i work at a custom tire/wheel shop and i will never sell a kumho. very stiff, ugly, and performance isnt that great. yokohama es100s are a very good tire and i have only had good remarks from customers about them. i currently have some visa tires in the front which im really impressed. tread wear is awesome and they grip quiet well. i just needed some fronts for cheap and got those and i have to say that im very impressed for a $45-50 tire. when i get the 18s i will definitely wrap them with yokohamas though.

Its not that they would be totally crap after first year. But the grip is nowhere near as it is when its new. I have about 5 years of experience with SP9000.

 

kumho s cheap($38per) stick good but are a little noisy in hard cornering

 

liking my falken azenis sports, but going with yokahama es100 when my new wheels come in.

 

if money ain't the problem, Pirelli P Zero - quitest and super sticky street tire i'v ever laid prints on.

for all, i like yokohamas. for money i'd get kumho, eventho i'v never used their street tires, victoracers are cheap and super good.

 

Looks like you have lots of experience with those tires, I only had two sets of them, the second set are in my old (stock rims) that I use when I go to the track still, they have still pretty much tread left, they stick nicely to the road, just my o2.
