Tires question, different front and rear?
I am running a 17x8/9 staggered setup on my second gen, when i got them they had nitto 555 with 235 45 17 in the front and 255 45 17 in the rear. After driving on these tires i can make the statement that "extreme drag" = "extreme crap"
Ideally i'd want to stay with the 235 45 in the front and get 255 40 17s in the rear with a stickier compound. Over the winter i was able to pick up 2 235 45 17 bridgestone So3s for very cheap. My rear however has developed a slow leak in the meantime however.
My question is, what would be the ideal setup tirewise? Should i put the 235 So3s on the back and run something narrower but sticky in the front? Run 235 So3s in the front also (staggered wheels, but same size tires)? Put the 235 So3s on the front and get something wider and equally sticky for the rear?
