which tires equals better traction/acceleration for a launch?
hello all, i have a slight dilema on which rear wheer/tire combo to go with my first option is a 245/35/18 tire on a 8.5 wide rim, the second option is a 275/30/19 on 9.5 wide rim, now i realize with the low sidewalls of each option launching won't be great, and this is not my drag setup, its just a street setup, i won't be consistanly launching, just a few spirted launches every now and then, it makes since that the wider 9.5rim w/275tire should allow me to have better traction off the line but will the extra weight of a 19inch rim in the back hinder acceleration much more than with the 18inch rim?
for your info if i go with the 19s it will be a staggered setup running 18x8.5 in the front and 19x9.5 in the back 45 offset all around, also i should be somewhere around high 300s low 400s to the wheel.

Why don't you just get a wider 18" rear wheel? A 275/30 is WAY too short -- that little sidewall will not allow the flexibility needed for a drag-style launch.
Who launches on the street, anyway? It's unnecessarily hard on the drivetrain and you just spin through all of 1st gear anyway.
