Good tires to wrap 15" BBS Vert Stockers??
I'm in the market for new tires and am thinking I want to upgrade a bit to something more performance oriented.
Can people give me some ideas of what will fit and what's good for that wheel size...the car is bone stock, no suspension mods..nada/
thanks

How wide are your wheels?
My rules of thumb:
7" rim = 205 tires
8" rim = 225 tires
9" rim = 245 tires
How wide are your wheels?
My rules of thumb:
7" rim = 205 tires
8" rim = 225 tires
9" rim = 245 tires

As an example: A stock FD rim is 16 X 8. An ideal tire size is 225/50/16. Many FD owners go to a 245/45/16. This tire would work better with a 9" rim, but many owners don't want to buy new rims.

I had some dunlop sSP5000's on my GTU and I liked the hell out of them
205-60-15 is stock for your car, tireracks got 'em for 75 bucks each. Handled good, good traction for the price
If you want to go a bit wider you can run 215-65-15's on there, but they are also a bit taller so your speedo will be a few mPH low (not much)
BF goodrich T/A KDW in 215/50/15.. is good, but 112bucks
the also make a g-force sport in 205-60-15.. my buddy has a set of those and they seem to be pretty nice for a stocker sized tire... especially at 65 buck a tire
Unfortunately.. a lot of your really high performance tires don't come in sizes to fit those wheels.
No experience with the falkens.. but the look pretty slick and at 49 bucks.. wo hoooo!!

TOns of AutoX and roadrace guys put 225's on the 15x6.5" BBS vert rim. I think since you are 100% stock some 205's would be fine and also a tad lighter.
If you want a really sticky tire look at the Toyo RA-1's. It is an R- compound tire and will only last about 10K miles if that. The T1-S from Toyo is not as soft as the RA-1 and is a good street tire and well priced also. Bridgestone S-03's are great and good in the rain. Kinda pricey.
Look on Tirerack.com and compare some of the tires. It shows their wet/dry traction, how long they should last, and other factors.
Some new springs/shocks would really wake your handling up.... How many miles are on the ones you have now?
Good luck,
Mark
