tire width on stock rims?

anyone know the rim size of a stock 4lug rim off a base n/a?

this winter is comin up and im gonna need some new shoes and im wonderin how wide i can go on the stock rim..they are 185/70/14 now..

no problem

there are wider tires available for the 14s that will fit on your wheels

but if i were you i'd get some 15x7 or 16x8's off ebay or rbmotoring
will look better and shouldn't cost too much

keep the 14s for snow tires, which are supposed to be narrow
then you got the best for both winter and summer

For winter you don't want wide tires. Narrower tires put more pressure on the ground and will cut through the snow better to get to the road below for better traction. Stick with the stock size, that'll be best.
