tire size and brand
i need a new set of tires for the stock rims but just dont know what to go with. what is the suggested tire size for the rear rims?

Yeah I believe you can go up to 245 but the rim size is not that wide so it may not be recommended. There's too many brands to choose from. Personnally, if you want something that lasts and looks good I like the Yokohama AVS ES100's, Kumho and BGF KDW's.

We have a suspension/wheels/tires forum you may want to acquaint yourself with - MOVING this thread there now.
You can run a 245/45 tire no problem, front and rear. The only problem is most manufacturers are discontinuing that size. Otherwise, just get some high quality 225/50s and call it good.

The sidewall number, i.e. the "50" isn't a consistent measurement, it's a percentage of the width, so if you go to a 245-section tire, you ought to go w/ a 45 series.... plus they'll look like balloons.
