The factory sizes were 235/45/17 F, and 255/40/17 R... and that's about as big as you'd want to go. You could squeeze a 245/40/17 up front to make it a little shorter, but that's about it

run-flat tires suck....they are heavier, ride harder, and do not handle as well

Please stop looking at budget tires for your FD. The FD's goodness deserves good shoes...and the Fusions aren't it.

How exactly did you come up with this conclusion regarding the Fuzion tires?

I have 245s in the front and 255s in the rear. With that setup the front wheels are slightly smaller than the rears. With the JDM setup (from memory) the fronts tires are larger than the rears and almost 1" larger than the US 16" setup

As a note, the Nitto 555R's are R compound tires, they won't last very long at all on the street. They're designed for drag racing, and probably aren't that great at handling.

Some good budget high performance tires are Falken Azenis, Hankook RS-2, and Kumho MX. These are all on the extreme end of street tires, but are the best budget tires when it comes to performance, and the Azenis are pretty much the best street autocross tire out there.

The Fuzion tires are "budget performance" tires. Period. They are very good FOR THE MONEY, but they do not have the grip or feel of higher end tires and have no place on an FD, IMO. If you want to live under the impression that they are in the same class as the Kumho MX, BFG KD, Michelin PS2, Falken Azenis, Hankook RS-2, Toyo T1-R, Bridgestone S-03, etc, be my guest. But you'll be wrong.

Get good tires. Nothing will affect the ride and handling more.

Actually he did. It's budget tire.

But here's more. Note the ratings versus a tire at the top of the Bridgestone range

Fuzion (note also the "tuner twins" cartoon characters, as good an indicator of non-seriousness as anything):

This reminds me of the "18x10 & 18x9 on my S4" thread.

Per my comment on "hate" in that thread, some people need to learn the difference between someone correcting you, setting you straight, or providing knowledgeable advise, and someone putting you down or attacking you personally.

Rynberg, and I for that matter, try to offer sound advice based on a helluva lot of experience with these cars. You say you're trying to learn, but then you get huffy and take it personally when the answer isn't what you want it to be.

I guess we could shut our pie holes, and let everyone put $100 plastic tires on their cars that are stretched beyond the manufacturers recommendation on wheels that don't fit so as to achieve the look they see in magazines, but we try to help people out and get the most out of the car.

Once upon a time an experienced track guy told me my car was way too low for optimum performance and why... and I took the advice (partially) and raised it back up and it worked better (imagine that). I didn't take it as a personal insult, or an afront to my "style", or some sort of put-down. Take the goddamned free advice offered.
