Tire size

Ok, I know people keep suggesting to go 225's for a second generation Rex. I honestly don't need anything that aggressive, so I've decided to stick with 215 all around. Won't be as nice, but I'm not really racing, or need that performance. Plus I can't afford to go that big. So here's the question should I go 215/40R17 or 215/45R17. Now the 45 is slightly larger and the 40 is slightly smaller. 45 is the closest to stock and would throw the speedo out the least. But then people have suggested that if I lower the car in the future, the 40 series would do better. I know that right now I can lower the car at least an inch without any problems. there's no way I would want to go too much more than that. I have enough troubles making it around right now at stock height. The books suggest 45, so I guess which would you go. 40 to be safe with the drop, or go suggested 45? Also how much have you lowered your cars, and what size tire are you guys running?

Sorry, I did not reply sooner. I didn't read through your whole thing to find the question.

You can go 45's no problem with the drop. It really comes down to the offset of the wheels. Do you know what wheel you're putting on and it's dimensions as well as offset?

The wheels are ADR Sokudo 8's. They are a 17X7 wheel, with a 40mm offset. Seems pretty standard. I'm gonna order the tires in the next couple days. Actually the tires only come in a 215/45R17 and no 40 series so I guess my question is kind of stupid, didn't realize this before. Now here's my choices of wheels. 1)Bridgestone Potenza 730's - $188 CND, 2)Firestone Firehawk SZ50 - $192
