i live in middle TN, and it rains ALOT here ... ALOT
during the winter, we get light snow/sleet ...
which usually ices over ..
im looking to spend about $100 per tire $110 at the most
im basically looking for a good rain tire, that is also good with handling/traction..
if you could just throw some names my way that would be great

Any high performance tire will be terrible in the snow.

im running yoko avs es100. they provide enough grip for the the street, are cheap, and look cool. They are not as sticky as a kuhmo mx, or t1s, but i have a long way to go driving wise before my tires will hold me back. I figure when/if i ever get to that point, i will have a second set of rims w/race tires anyway.
btw-I paid 360 shipped from tire rack for a set of 225/50/16's

T1S's are AWESOME in the rain, I doubt except for Aquatreds you will find better.
But we were unfortunate enough to get stuck in 1/16" of snow with them, Michigan weather, 60 when we leave the house, snowing when we come back. They sucked, bad, I mean really really bad, 25mph bad and if you looked at the throttle the back end slid out.
This was on our Miata, before the turbo.
You will get good traction in the rain, safe handling in the rain. I drove these things in rainstorms where you could not see where you were going 50 feet in front of you with no problems.
On the flip side, I drove the Camaro with Nitto DR's in some pretty bad rain and thought they were great too, but then again I've driven ET Streets in the rain

I have 185/60/14 Michelin Pilots on my Jensen Healey, they are excellent rain tires even in the wider sizes. I have no idea about snow (don't get much of that in Charleston). I got mine at Sears for $75 each (watch for sales!)
Hey yokohama AVS ES 100s are great in the rain I have a set on my Beretta GTU 225/50/16s they have great traction in the dry to. Oh and they are so good in the rain my freind is going to get a set just for that reason. The yokos will not let you down.

These tires could be scary in the snow, but it doesn't sound like that matters to you.
I also have BF Goodrich Traction T/As (high performance all season) on an economy car that do very well in all conditions. They are not as sticky as the g-Force KDWs, so I don't know that I would recommend them for a Turbo II.
I have also had good experiences with Bridgestone tires (such as the Potenza RE750, etc). These tires do tend to cost $20 to $40 more than others in the same class.
