Question Tire, Rims, and Suspension Upgrade Question?

Ok,
I'm debating an upgrade and wanted to get some opinions.

Option #1
SSR Professor SP1 and tires (18's)
Price about $3000.00 In black

Option #2
Powder coat my stock rims Gloss Black $200.00
and use the rest of the money on Tein coliovers and new tires all together about $2400.00

The Car is a 1993 BLACK R1 just like in the picture!

So what do you guys think?
Thanks in advance
Brad

I like both of those options (those SSR wheels, especially, look damn nice). Do you want/need wider tires?

Thanks Max
How much more traction will I get with wider tires?! is it worth the money for the extra traction? or will the Tein's help with traction at the same amount of wider tires?

Tell this old man more about those SSR SP1 Professor wheels! I'm sure I could learn a few more tricks using those SSR SP1s at the track!

It really depends on what you do with your car. If you track your car very often, then I suggest powdercoating the stock wheels plus a nice set of suspension. It's much easier and cheaper to get R tires for the stock size rims too. And if you spun out, scratching the stock rims won't rape your wallet like the SSR would.

If your car is for the street, then go with the SSR. They look dope!! The stock suspension is good enough for most people, and especially on the street, there aren't many chances that you can fully push the limit of the stock suspension.

Let us know what you decide at the end.

The ones in the pic are when he had the FD wheels. THe RP01's are a thinner and longer tapered spoke. Nonetheless, they both looked great with his scheme.
