Looking to put some tires on a 94 RX7. They are stock rims. Car is used as a daily driver on some pretty lousy freeway pavement, in both dry and wet conditions. High perfromance is somewhat of an issue, but safety in the rain is a higher consideration (I want to keep the car forever).

I have been researching Yokohama AVID V4S all-weather high performance tire (VR rated). Good reviews from Tire Rack customers in all kinds of weather including snow and pretty cheap. What do you guys think of this choice or do you have other recommendations?

 

I have Mich. Pilot Sport A/S's and love'em. Great performance in the dry and wet. Very smooth in transitions (i.e., no nasty habits). Overall a very good high performance all season tire.
