Tire Rack has 225/50/16 Sport Contacts on sale for $88 apiece. I have driven these on 3 series BMWs and a bunch of Mercedes; I really liked them. Not for racing, but grip very well for aggressive street driving. They are normally almost twice that price I beleive.

Unfortunately the 245/45/16 is not on sale.
