Tire Questions for my FD
My '94 needs new tires after the drive to SS7 and back, the fronts are 50% and the rears are at the wear bar, so here are the questions:
Should I just replace the rears only, or all 4?
What tires would you recommend? I need tires with good wet traction.
Thanks for the help. Oh, the car has stock suspension and stock wheels. My current tires are Dunlop SP8000 (225/50/16, Z-rated).

Just replace the rear two. IMO the best value in a high-performance tire you can get are Toyo Proxes T1-S for $113 @ Online Tires.

I wouldn't run two different brands of tires, personally. Since Dunlop has stupidly discontinued the classic SP8000 (and replaced it with a **** tire), I think you should just suck it up and buy all four tires.
I agree with the T1-S recommendation -- I run those now after going through two sets of SP8000s. The T1-S has good rain grip, although the 8000 was no slacker in that department.

rynberg,
What's your reason on replacing all four? I realize that the two different brands will have different traction characteristics, but is it a big enough difference to worry about.
It sounds like the Toyos are the way to go, luckily I live near a Les Schwab and they sell Toyos.
Thanks.
