Time to "Retire" the 93, suggestions?
Im buying 4 new tires for the FD this spring, it still has the originals on it and they are just too old to be safe or perform.
I dont race it but do want a tire that will allow it to live up to its potential (its stock), be fairly quiet and allow me to drive it in the rain if I have to. I mainly use it to commute to work as there is a nice safe spot to park it there but when the unexpected rain pops up a 5PM... I need to get it home :-)
Any suggestions? reccomendations? tires to stay away from? There are a couple I like on the tire rack but am interested in anyone who may have used them on an RX7
THanks
Keith

^i agree, they are a great overall tire. grip in the rain is excellent. Pretty quiet too as far as performance tires go. I had one set of them and loved em, if they werent so pricey i would think about getting another set for my daily wheels. but for my autocross set i gotta stick with the azenis

I've had two sets of Eagle F1 GS-D3. You can't get more traction in both rain and dry than that tire. It can handle the track without issue. They are very durable. Just slightly noisy around 30-40mph, but that's about the only quibble I have.
I switched to Bridgestone RE-01Rs only because I wanted a tire with more dry grip but only because I was willing to give up some on wear, noise, and wet traction.

+3 on the Eagle F1 GS-D3! It was vote best wet and dry tire in one of the best comparisons. I have it and I don't even drive in the rain, unless I have to. My favorite Goodyear dealer down the street wanted $220.00 per tire. I got mine at Tire Rack for $85.00 per tire(sale on stock size). Which it sounds like what your wanting.
