Three Piece Wheels (ARE)
This is a challange. After six months looking at over 5000 adds for center caps, I can't find one to match. I am looking for one to four caps.
The cap is plastic and has a large ,"ARE " logo. The cap has the following markings:
89-8006
Made in Tiawan
R.O.C.
The wheel is 16 inches, and I suspect it is 9 inches wide as it carries 45ZR16 series tires. It is a three piece wheel with the rim fastened to the yoke by 28 bolts. The back of the wheel is marked:
AMERICAN RACING 398
JAPAN
JJx16
Wheel load 1580 pounds.
The web of the wheel is marked with the following numbers, each number is circled:
92 3 1 8
I will accept any center cap that will fit. I have the rings.
The problen with screw-in center caps is that they are right handed threads. If the cap is not tight the inerta of a sudden stop will spin the cap off on the driver's (left) side. AR says the wheels went out of production eight years ago. I am presently using BBS center caps from a 1990 VW Corrado. They took a lot of modifications to fit. They do look great, but I want the orignal ARE cap.
Can anyone give a lead???????
I tried to download pix of wheel and center cap. My pix exceed file max for RX7 Club. If interested I can send pictures in an email. RX7MAVEN

It's really a waste of time...and money.
Those are cheap wheels, and finding a matching set of caps would probably not be economically feasible.
If you're insistent on doing so, I'd suggest scouring eBay every day...

Are Wheels
They are not cheap wheels. I don't think you are familiar with these. No three piece wheel is cheap. Ebay, Ebay Motors and Ebay Express all come up with nothing. After six months of every day looking I gave up.

I prefer Rays / Volk Racing, Work, SSR, Panasport, Blitz...you get the picture.
