Those red break calipers
I was just wondering if these were some special option for the 93-95 FD. I've seen quite a lot of people who have these calipers, including me. Are they a upgrade?

The top picture you posted is the front brakes from a 2002 Spirit R RX-7.
The white car in your second pic simply has had the stock calipers painted red and has Brembo stock-size replacement rotors.
EDIT: If that white car is yours, I saw it at C2 Automotive yesterday.....

No it's not Turbo'd
So, someone tell me, what is the difference in Caliper size from Spirit to Stock US FD !? And can you run 16" rims with the Spirit ones, if there is a difference !?

Also, would it be worth buying the RS/RZ rotors (bigger) for street driving and occasional track events?

From all accounts, the RS/RZ setup is much better for track work on the 93-95 setup. For street driving or auto-x, the stock 93-95 brakes are more than you will ever need.
